Against All Odds: From the Grit of Jamaica to the Grit and Glory of Canada is the inspiring memoir of Norman Hamilton—an immigrant, father, and entrepreneur who refused to let poverty, violence, or betrayal define him.
Born in the rugged hills of St. Thomas, Jamaica, and raised in Kingston’s unforgiving Spoilers district, Norman learned early that survival required courage, hustle, and unshakable faith. From selling juice as a boy to giving blood to pay tuition in Canada, every sacrifice became a stepping stone toward resilience.

Norman Hamilton
Norman Hamilton is an immigrant, father, entrepreneur, and motivational voice who embodies resilience in action. Born in St. Thomas, Jamaica, and raised in Kingston’s Spoilers community, Norman learned early the cost of survival and the value of perseverance. His journey took him from selling juice on street corners to enduring the brutal Canadian winters as a student, working multiple jobs, and sacrificing everything to build a future.
Today, Norman is the founder of Truck Repair Hotline Inc., a company born from grit, vision, and unshakable faith. More than a businessman, he is a mentor and speaker dedicated to helping others rise ‘against all odds.’ His story reflects the belief that legacy is not inherited—it is built with sacrifice, courage, and consistency.
When he’s not leading in business, Norman continues to inspire communities by sharing his message of hope, faith, and determination.
